Shalmi Barman (Kumudini or Kumu), presently a student in 12th at La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata.

She is playing the character Kumudini in Ganer Opare. Kumudini is the stepsister of Pupe and daughter of Sribilash Deb. She has been surprisingly introduced by GNO yesterday (15th Dec, 2010). 

Shalmi is one of the best students in her school. When she was in 10th standard, she has won a Scholastic Writing Award, from a nationwide short story and non-fiction writing competition (source). Her name reached The Times of India, when she commented about the popularity of tollywood stars on young crowd (source).

    Cute abnd cuddling - another great discovery of talent by the GNO team - a perfect cut out for the multi-racial role she portrays - so sponteneous and refressing. Let Script Wirter give you more exposure to make the serial a feast to our eyes and ears. Bravo - keep it up.
