ReplyDeleteThe serial had started with a huge promise......to offer something new.....something innovative.........with lots of imagination, viewing and cerebral pleasure..........but unfortunately at the end it turned out to be a tame affair ...........a triangular love affair........a copy cat of Suchitra-Uttam starrer without any music........we could hardly get any food for our thought.........any new direction of imagination and thought........... wonderful moments to cherish.......we could not hear any song worth the name in the last two months.........'ei amader dukkho'.....the producers could not hold on to the high standard till the end

ReplyDeleteGNO started with a blast, in a very short period it attracks the audience mainly b'coz of the use of Rabindra Sangeet( sung well by the contemporary singers),dialogues written by Rituparna Ghosh (may be only first few episodes) & also the new faces Mimi,Arjun,Gaurav ,Tintin (sorry i don't know his name).......overall it was going smoothly with lots of liking & little dislikes. But from the middle or end of Feburary till date GNO has reached to its bottom b'coz of its deplorable melodramatic episodes.....who is responsible for this ???? The Script Writer,if yes then i think ( without hurting anybody)this person is doing experiments with our thoughts, likings & emotions.He or She whoever the person, is not quite sure about the story line.GNO claim to be a love story, what kind of love u people are portraying , PLATONIC ??? Anyway, thanks for all those lovely songs reminiscent of GNO & for commercial ending

I agree with 'Dreams'. Those in front of the screen excelled beyond imagination but unfortnately those behind the screen - the so called Tollywood celebrities and the Star Jalsa owners cut a very sorry figure. They exposed thier poverty of ideas and thoughts in full measure. They do not deserve the tags credited against thier names at the begining of the serial everyday.

ReplyDeleteSome people’s emotions are deeply hurt here it seems. Funny! Some ‘educated and cultured’ people consider that parents’ or guardian’s roles are restricted to CONTROLLING the lives or lifelines even of their children. Strange! Any person who has the sanity of mind and is TRULY cultured with a broad mind and a broader outlook would understand that love and concern don’t teach you to imprison someone within the confines of your care. Love means to allow someone to breathe, to live, to love, to fly and feel LIFE in every grain of sand. And let me reiterate, I mean love of anyone and everyone. Sabyasachi is the perfect example of a guardian, who loves his daughter, is concerned about his daughter and at the same time does not chain her down. Children rebel because parents don’t know of a proper way to handle them. Sometimes parents’ love tends to throttle a child’s own sense of living. In fact Pupe’s mom declared it herself in front of Mishtu then when she gifted a shawl on Pupe’s 18th birthday, in a way she was actually snatching away her childhood. Any person who has watched the show with care should be able to understand the thin line between the growth of Bubai and Mishtu contrasted with that of Pupe, which has also been talked about a couple of times on the show by various characters, especially by Sabyasachi.

An immensely talented and gifted soul with a terrific voice can’t be compared to a local shop keeper! Besides, those who weigh the merit of a person by that person’s bank balance, by the number of certificates the person has acquired in real life, are (am sorry to say) need to GROW UP!
Gora has never been shown as a slum-dweller. He is not wealthy, true, he hails from a low middle class family, thriving on the earning of his mother, who is a SCHOOL TEACHER. How many school teachers do you think live in slums? And talking about Gora’s accent or dialect or delivery of speech, what do you think his TEACHER-mother has been doing?
ReplyDeletePupe completed her master’s degree and that’s what has been shown here. In a previous dialogue she mentioned it herself. And yes, you can research on any topic you want, you don’t need to know the name of the course because it’s RESEARCH and Shakespeare is the subject of research. Well, this is for ignorant people. Erudite people can ignore the punch!
Talking about choosing "the perfect guy” for marriage. Why don’t we get back to age of kings and queens? How about planning for a ‘swayambhar’ before every girl gets married? Besides GANER OPARE was for people who understand Rabindranath, his songs, his poems, his understanding of love and life, not for people who can’t contemplate life to be anything more than a balance sheet! All they can think of is how much is debited and how much is credited! Huh! And they DREAM of DARING to comment on a show like this! You need to have some awareness before being a critic of a show like Ganer Opare!
Undoubtedly, the show is ending abruptly for the sugar coated politics in the industry and by the ostensible leaders and controllers of the show but the responsibility can never be bestowed on the characters on-screen. Also you can never blame the growth of Pupe and Gora’s love to be unrealistic. It may be so for people who can’t think beyond the box and for people who lack the inherent quality of spreading the vision of their minds which has only been bestowed on mankind and no other species on earth!

I wish, like many others that, since the show is ending, let it come back with Gora and Pupe’s future, about the developments in their relationship once they are away from the shackles of the stereotypical mentality and parenthood of Sonar Tori! Even certain viewers need this time to nurture and nourish their minds in the due course of time and prepare themselves for the next series, I mean , if at all that nourishment is possible for their materialist mind set!!!!
