A bit of a let down by the Ganer Opare Team………..GO is not only about drama and melodrama……….it is also about touching the sublime ………….swimming into the ocean of great creations of Tagore…………….to bring him close to the new generation……………but Alas!......that was not to be….....We should have been treated with some soulful music of Maghotsav…………….the stage was set……..environment was there……….artists were ready…….but we could see some high voltage drama only…..no music…………….. why?

ReplyDeleteIn my previous post I had said ‘ a bit of let down’.....but on second thought I feel it was a big let down by the Ganer Oprare Team yesterday.......instead of giving us a flavour of Maghotsav, they offered us the melodrama and that too in an uncouth way............everybody whispering..........exaggerated eye contacts and what not............the important announcements should have been made after a spell of Brahmo Sangeet in a more refined and dignified manner....there was no Upsana and no Sangeet.........everything looked rather ugly, shabby and unprofessional, including the dresses and the attires, to say the least.............I think Ganer Opare Team owes an apology to Bengali Intelligentsia for dragging Tagore and his hallowed image to such a low............to make some fast bucks as most of the other serials do...........Please answer.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct Mr.Roy. The GO Team should have done some research before shooting this Maghotsav scene. I am from Bramho family & I strongly protest the way they have shown the upasana and surroundings. Upasana is always done in a disciplined manner not shown like here and music/ song is must .
ReplyDeleteMr Sabyasachi Chakravarty...........I am a great admirer of your acting talent..........that prompts me write this blog............please do not compromise the standard of this serial where the name of Tagore is intensively involved to project the carrier launches of your sons.............Tagore is no Saratchandra or Prmechand or even Tarashankar whose works can be trampled at will for commercial or selfish gains........Need I say more?.............I hope you have understood my point................If the serial is of outstanding quality people will flock to see it including the maiden performance of the members of your family................You have a special stake in this serial...........please stop playing with Tagore.

ReplyDeleteI was also expecting some good Bromho Sangeet yesterday. Set was also not nicely made. The effect of upasana was totally missing. People were standing and chatting like a family gettogether.
ReplyDeleteThe costume designers of ganer opare have shown their quality of work earlier but in Maghotsav it was not done properly.
I was equally disappointed with 'Raja' performance. Rehearsal phase was covered in so many episode but the somehow the theme was lost on the day of the performance.
kaushik sen is an immportant member of sonar tori?how can he absence in an important sceene of maghotsob?the scripter must concern about that this serial is different from other.so please concern.being a fan of benuda, i request him to please guide the director to improve the srip.

U surely know that Rituparno is not connected to this mega now.Really Maghotsab is so badly seen ...no dignity at all.
ReplyDeleteI am worried.....I had too much expectation from this series of Star Jalsha but somehow it is true that Ganer Opare is losing it's own flavour. I am worried because I do not want to see it as another Love Triangle Drama. I Loved to watch GO because it reflected the vivid and rich practical side of life blended with some good music of Tagore. But now I think the production house is giving more importance to the commercial side which includes TRP rating in order to sustain in this competitive market. If this remains the fact then we will be again heartbroken and would have to wait for ages to see some other production house taking initiative to promote good practical series minus melodrama for the viewers like me and you. I am still hoping that the script gets better than becoming worst.

My self and my wife is a gr8 fan of GNO.........after all the days hectic schedule of work still do not miss out any episode...........all the characters performing extraordinary.....specially GORA,Pupe and last but not the least KOMU and Mr.Sabyasachi.......GNO is really different in its kind away from the contemporary commercial serials running in vogue.
