I am a big fan of ganer opare. The love the fact that there is a fine line between ganer opare and other so called daily soaps. That's what pulls the crowds. The magnificent style and the whole enchanted aura of ganer opare is almost overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteBut having said all this, I have to admit that I am missing the Rituporno factor in the recent episodes. The man whose prominently portrait of the sweetness and grandeur of the Bengali language, is what I think made ganer opare, what it is. We miss him. In every aspect of ganer opare, from the way make up is done to the portrayal of scenes, even the movement of the actors and their appearance. We miss him.
I only hope that the audience gets all that ganer opare had promised.
Well, I totally agree with Arka in that the Rituparno factor is badly missing...and the serial seems to be devastated... There is no dearth of "behula"-type serials on TV and Ganer Opare need not have to be yet another feather to the hat... It has deviated from its original message and theme and reduced to petty love triangle kind of story..which a viewer who have been watching this serial since the beginning like myself finds it completely unacceptable. The transformation in Pupe's character is shocking.. The channel needs to understand that Ganer Opare was far more than mere TRPs....It was not about selling Tagore but bringing Tagore at the doorsteps of those "BONGS" who were getting dissociated from Tagore...It once taught us the contemporary attributes of Tagore's writings, the liberal, modern and open mindedness that Tagore's writings are imbued with... and the fact that Tagore can be and is the best companion in the modern day Bongs' journey of life... Ganer opare is not about Pupe tickling and waking up Gora...leaning on his shoulders out on the streets....these are just tooooo disgusting!!!!! Please do something about it!!!

ReplyDeleteGolden opportunity is getting lost. It is fast relegating into a masala type of movie of worst sort. It is shocking. The new relationship brewing between Gora and Pupe is being shown in an amateurish manner - devoid of imagination and beauty. A couple of appropriate Tagore songs in their lips would have raised the quality of the serial to new heights. This has not happened yet. Is the Directional team running out of ideas?
ReplyDeleteI'm a greatest fan of the serial Ganer Opare since the very first day.After seeing this serial i started loving Rabindra sangeet as i could able to understand the deeper meaning of the songs played. But one thing in the serial which is not acceptable is that no decent girl would sit with her loved one on the para rock and have jhal muri rather their feelings & desire should be express of course holding the hand of Rabindra Sangeet in such a way that would inspire every viewer to fall in love once again with their loved ones. Gora & Pupe together look beautiful, so my earnest request to the director, pls make a beautiful love story for them instead of those common one.
ReplyDelete@ bony: I dont really understand what you meant by "usual girls"...nevertheless, all I attempted to say was that there is no harm in pupe's coming out of the legacy of sonar tori and falling in love with gora...but the depiction is just horrendous..as Tanmoy correctly says...it is amateurish and devoid of any cultural aesthetics...moreover the message of the serial had never been just a rich girl-poor boy love story..for that we have tonnes and tonnes of movies and serials...the serial has totally moved out of track!!! just pitching one song here and one song there does not compensate for that loss and lack and disorientation!
